Governance of the NT Pathways to Community Control Program

The NT Pathways to Community Control (P2CC) program is governed through a collaborative framework designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and shared decision-making. This governance structure reflects the commitment of all stakeholders to supporting Aboriginal communities in their transition to community control of primary health care services.

Northern Territory Aboriginal Health Forum (NTAHF)

The NTAHF serves as the overarching governance body for the P2CC program. It provides strategic direction, approves key decisions, and ensures the program aligns with the National Closing the Gap Agreement and community priorities.

Pathways to Community Control Working Group

The P2CC Working Group operates under the NTAHF and is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the program. This group brings together representatives from key stakeholder organisations to manage the transition process collaboratively.

How the Program is Governed

  1. Collaborative Decision-Making: The P2CC Working Group ensures all stakeholders contribute to the decision-making process, creating shared accountability.
  2. Regular Reporting: The Working Group provides regular updates to the NTAHF and community-controlled organisations, ensuring transparency and progress monitoring.
  3. Community-Centric Approach: Communities play a central role in the governance process through consultations, feedback, and participation in decision-making.
